I'll stamp all over 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
